Service Provider: The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD

1. The Nature of the Service

The Tenant Shield is a digital documentation utility. Think of it as a digital, organized "evidence folder." Just as a user might manually create a document, attach photographs, and email them to a landlord or property manager using standard communication tools, this App simply automates and organizes that process. The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD is not a party to your lease agreement, nor are we a mediator, arbitrator, or legal representative. We provide the facility to record property conditions; we do not influence the outcome of any rental dispute.

2. No Third-Party Relationship

• No Agency: You acknowledge that the use of this App does not create any relationship between The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD and your landlord, property representative, or any other third party.

• Third-Party Claims: Because this App is a tool for your personal documentation, you agree that should any dispute arise between you and your landlord, you will not hold The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD responsible for any actions taken by the landlord or property representative, nor will you involve us in any legal claims, whether for damages, losses, or deposit disputes.

• Responsibility for Content: You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the media (photos/videos) and the descriptions you input. By using this App to send information to a third party, you acknowledge that you are acting in your personal capacity, just as if you were sending a private email.

3. Limitation of Liability and "Tool" Disclaimer

• "As-Is" Utility: The App is provided as a data-recording utility. We make no warranty that reports generated by the App will be accepted by any landlord, legal body, or the Rental Housing Tribunal (RHT).

• Limitation of Loss: The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD shall have no liability for any direct or indirect loss, including but not limited to, the loss of a rental deposit, legal costs, or damages arising from any property dispute. Our liability is strictly limited to the functionality of the software as a recording tool.

4. User Representations and Indemnity

• Warranties: You warrant that the data you record (photos, text, videos) is a truthful and accurate representation of the property.

• Indemnity: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

1. Your misuse of the App.

2. Any dispute arising between you and your landlord, property manager, or agent.

3. Any claim that the information you transmitted via the App was false, defamatory, or violated the privacy rights of the recipient.

5. Intellectual Property

All software, branding, and proprietary "Evidence Locker" architecture remains the exclusive property of The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD. Your use of the App is a limited, personal license; you acquire no ownership rights in the underlying system or the tools used to aggregate your evidence.

6. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to terminate your account immediately if you use the App for fraudulent purposes, to harass Counterparties, or to attempt to hold The Rent Shield (PTY) LTD responsible for outcomes beyond the scope of our utility-based service.
